Wedding Photographer Junior Barreto
I love people, they are more important than photography, I love new experiences and stories that are not mine. I love to portray people and their stories through my images. If I can not tell these stories through my wedding photography, I don’t feel complete.
I love the truths of history, so I do not interfere in any of the moments throughout the wedding day, it makes everything that I tell through my photography is truth.
I learned from my mentors always be ready for unexpected moments, this is the most difficult thing to achieve. In this shot the groom began to sing to the bride. I realized she was trying to hold back her tears, I adjusted my focus and my composition to create a clean scene and I waited to get the exact moment you see in the image. When the tear begins to fall from her eye. I took a few shots because I didn’t want to miss this perfect moment.
This shot was difficult only because I had to wait, I and I am sure many other wedding photographers are impatient, waiting means we may be missing other moments but it’s moments like these that make the waiting so worthwhile.
I currently use two Nikon D750 with a 35mm 1.8 lens and 85mm 1.8 without a flash, the camera setup is Auto ISO, priority in the aperture (A), define ISO 12800 as a maximum limit, and 125 minimum limit for speed, this setting gives me more freedom so I can just concentrate on the moments of the day.
I metered the shot using (A) priority in the aperture and ISO AUTO, let the camera do the reading photometry in matrix mode, but I always control the exposure.
In post I used Lightroom, as little as possible, just to correct the light and color.
I’ve learned that a good photo is a miracle, like all miracles, especially couples! 🙂
This wedding was in a house reception, Chaplin Receptions in Natal RN, Northeast Brazil, overlooking the beautiful sea.

Junior has captured a beautiful moment in this shot but not only that he has composed it masterfully, directing all the focus to the single tear falling from the bride’s eyes. Wonderful.
