5 Brilliant Gin-Based Wedding Cocktails

We all want to make sure our guests are well fed on our wedding day, and even more importantly, have plenty of lovely alcohol to drink. We think gin is a delicious, refreshing and classy option, so over to Gin and Bear It! to give us the lowdown on their top 5 gin-based wedding cocktails…

At Gin and Bear It! we are big fans of cocktails. We are often asked to come up with custom cocktails for special events which is very popular as a welcome drink option at wedding at the moment as well. Our couples all have varying tastes, but generally have one thing in common – their love of Gin! With this in mind we have compiled a list of our Top 5 gin based Wedding Cocktails, beginning with our most popular…

Gin And Bear It

1. The Diamond Fizz

Champagne is always popular at weddings, but this twist makes it even more special.


  • 50ml Gin
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tsp simple syrup
  • Chilled champagne

Method: Shake gin, juice of lemon, and syrup over ice and strain into a highball glass over two ice cubes. Fill with chilled champagne, stir, and serve with a sprig of mint. Beautiful.

2. The Last Word

This is a prohibition era cocktail that’s very popular at the moment, and very tasty!


  • 25 ml Green Chartreuse
  • 25 ml Gin
  • 25 ml Maraschino liqueur
  • 25 ml Lime juice

Method: Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Serve straight up; without ice in a martini glass. Potent but perfect.

3. The Negroni

Very hip right now, and extremely popular with wedding parties around the country.


  • 25ml gin
  • 25ml sweet vermouth
  • 25ml Campari

Method: Stir over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with orange peel. Fruity!

4. Tom Collins

Simple and very refreshing. This is perfect for a summer wedding.


  • 50ml London Dry Gin
  • 5ml simple syrup
  • 25ml Lemon juice
  • Club soda

Method: Shake over ice in a cocktail shaker and strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Top with club soda and garnish with a lemon slice. A classic.

5. Breakfast Martini

As the name suggest this is good for an earlier reception!


  • 50ml gin
  • 20ml Cointreau or triple sec
  • 20 ml orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange marmalade

Method: Mix ingredients in a cocktail shaker over lots of ice. Strain into a martini glass and serve garnished with a spiral of orange peel!
