This beautiful fireworks waterfall was one of the highlights from Ivy And Thanavuth's wedding. It took place at Centara Beach resort, Hua-Hin, Thailand. It was a beautifully timed shot, capturing the fireworks and the bride and groom in a natural pose.
The fireworks waterfall only lasted a minute, so I prepared 3 custom presets with different exposures in my Canon 5D MKII before trying to capture the scene. I took the first shot and did a quick preview to check the exposure. I only had about 10 to 15 seconds before the video crew needed to capture the scene too, so the pressure was on. I took 5 photos all at different angles and this was one of my favorite shots.
I used a 24-105mm lens at 24mm to get a wide coverage. In post production I added a blue tone, desaturated and adjust for the original colour temperature because of the red dress. I wanted the bride to standout more and give a romantic movie feeling.
I was awarded the International Excellence Award for this shot by WPS.
