I'm a former journalist who decided to follow a passion for photography and documenting love. I want to create memories for my clients and tell their love history with my images.
This portrait of the bride was taken during the get ready. As we all know the hotel rooms where brides get ready are usually messy and full of people around. As soon as the bride got her dress on and was totally ready to go to the ceremony, I noticed a sun spot in a back wall of the room. It was 1 pm so the sun was really up and it make this graphic pattern in the wall. I asked her to be right on the sun spot. Because everything was really bright, I had to underexpose this picture by 3 stops. That made the super bright sun light become a beautiful dramatic light, and the background that was originally pink become very dark. I didn't need to do much for this picture but making it BW.
This shoot was taken in British Columbia, Canada.
I used a Nikon D3 and a 24 to 70mm lenses.
I loved the final result, because it was pretty much all done in camera.It was a very easy editing. This was my favourite picture of that wedding and still is one of my favourite bridal portraits to the date.
