I try to create a happy memory / vibe of the day when presenting the images to a couple. I tend to gravitate towards the happy emotions of the day when looking for pictures. It's all about laughing, smiling and even crying for me. During the speeches these are the types of shots I like to present, everybody laughing, the bride slightly tearful e.t.c

I used a Canon 5D MKII and a 70-200mm MKII Canon Lens to get this shot. I like the fact I can keep my distance and not make people conscious of my presence and it is a lovely if not heavy lens to use.

Composition was important for me here. Getting some context, so obviously this was shot during the speeches. I had been waiting in position for some time on my knees hidden (with my knee pads on of course)

I snapped several shots in succession and this was the one I liked before moving on. It had poor light in the room, so ISO was quite high and I removed the noise in PS with a little RAW work 1st and B/W conversion, making the blacks black and the whites even whiter. I have darkened edges of the image and lightened the main subject to draw the eye to him.

This is still one of my favourite shots to date.
