Tell us a little about yourself??I am almost 25 years old and I've almost graduated in a field of Art Photography (hopefully this June I can be called Master! :-). I was born in the north of the Czech Republic but for my art studies I moved 5 years ago to the capital Prague. I am running small photo studio and I am happy enough to say I do what I really love for a living!
How do you think or would like people to describe you?Passionate girl with a smile on my face.
Tell us a little bit about the wedding day? This was my first experience with aaaadestination wedding. I was so nervous! But I was so happy that I get this opportunity to travel 900km to photograph their day! Sharon and Teun are two amazing people fully in love. They were absolutely relaxed, enjoying themselves (and of course another 210 guests!). They wanted to have a relaxed, colourful, cozy and bohemian wedding, almost like a mini festival. The ceremony was held in an old outside amphitheater at Rijk van de Keizer in Amsterdam. It was so intimate and very personal. The Bride and groom also prepared some words for some of their loved ones.
How did you get into wedding photography?I been in the photography business almost 18 years old. I started with self-portraits, than with portrait photography of my friends and later on I was asked if I can photograph a big wedding of a friend from childhood. From that day I was totally engaged with wedding photography… You can’t photograph people in a more amazing and happy way other than on their wedding day!
How long have you been a wedding photographer? This year is going to be my fourth season.
Can you share how you've made your wedding photography business a success? Any mistakes you made along the way?Everybody makes mistakes. You have to make them, because you have to learn. I also know that I will make lot of mistakes till the end of my career…:-) I have learned that I have to see my clients before they book me, speak with them, feel them. If the clients are from abroad, I ask for a skype meeting.
What do you think a bride or groom should be looking for and not looking for in terms of wedding photography packages?Price vs. number of picture. I am always saying this to my clients. It is not important to have thousand of picture from a wedding:-). Sometimes I am successful, sometimes they say to me: “but the other guy give us 1000!â€.
How do you advertise yourself and what for you has really worked?I try a lot of different types of advertising. 70% was throwing my money out of the window… I have a profile on many well known wed photographers pages in my country and abroad, I use social network to build up my image. In the end the best advertising is word of mouth and brides, vendors and venues advertise my business for free.
Why do you think people hire you?I am putting my heart into my photographs and I believe that my weddings are different. I try to keep shooting in my own style.
How many weddings do you average per year? Not much yet… I only had about 7-10 weddings for this season. But next year is promising! I have 5 weddings abroad all around Europe and at least 7 weddings in Czech Republic!
Whose wedding would you love to shoot?I am not looking to be a celebrity photographer… It is not my style. I just want to photograph unique weddings of people who are in love. No matter if they are famous or not.
If you were asked to shoot a destination wedding, where would you hope it would be?It is my dream to be a destination wedding photographer!!:-) I am serving right now in Netherlands, Germany and Italy and I hope I will get some British wedding and I would love to have one wedding by the sea.
What equipment do you have for a typical wedding day?I have canon mark III, from lenses: 24-70L,50 mm and two external flash with umbrellas.
