Tell us a little about yourself??

I married my childhood love and we have two beautiful daughters. I truly love being a photographer and telling people’s stories.

How do you think or would like people to describe you?

I would like people to describe me as kind, hard-working, and honest.

Tell us a little bit about the wedding day?

Baylie and Konstantin were married at Konstantin’s grandmother’s estate. It was almost like a secret garden, hidden in the concrete jungle of Phoenix. Their family and friends were so hands-on and helped with the set-up and flow of the day. Baylie’s dance teacher even stepped in as a last-minute wedding coordinator to help the day flow seamlessly.

How did you get into wedding photography?

Funny story actually. I went to assist a photographer in Chicago on an industrial vacuum shoot. I later found out that she was a wedding photographer based in California and she invited me to shoot with her. We photographed a 14-hour wedding and I fell in love with it.

Can you share how you've made your wedding photography business a success? Any mistakes you made along the way?

Any mistakes you made along the way? I feel like I am still making mistakes. I think the most important thing I am learning is to embrace my mistakes. Lanny and Erika Mann say to embrace your failures, because you can’t fail without trying something new, and you can’t succeed unless you push yourself. I am trying to live by that. I can’t be perfect, I can only perform 1000% ever second for my clients and let my inner creativity come out without judgment or expectations.

What do you think a bride or groom should be looking for and not looking for in terms of wedding photography packages?

I think people looking to get married should always choose a photographer who they vibe to. Nowadays, there are so many talented photographers with so many levels of talent and photography styles. Choosing a photographer that speaks to you, with a wedding package that has a lot of time! I always feel that wedding days should be covered from start to finish, to better tell the story of the whole day.

How do you advertise yourself and what for you has really worked?

Word of mouth is a big one for me. Also, trying to get every wedding published in a magazine or wedding blog.

Rebekah Sampson Photography image 8

Why do you think people hire you?

Hopefully because my work speaks to them. Because it makes people feel something that they want to portray for their wedding day.
