Tell us a little about yourself??I have a long series of work experience under my belt that I’ve gained over many years of photography. In these years, as well as producing many works, I have won several awards of national and international level. I work with my co-workers and a team of professional photographers making photographic services throughout Italy and abroad. I assiduously participate in several workshops held by the most famous photographers in the world, because I believe there is always more to learn, and that the daily comparison will make us grow day after day.
How do you think or would like people to describe you?Easy going, stubborn, but I really get on well with people.
Tell us a little bit about the wedding day?Giulia and Roberto were the most happy, cheerful and fantastic couple with whom I have ever worked.
To tell their most beautiful day with my images has been very rewarding and amusing for me.
For the ceremony they have chosen the extraordinary church of Saints Nereus and Achilles in the historic center of Rome.
The simplicity of a ride in a Fiat 500, the elegance of a lace dressed bride, the irony and, above all, the love that you can feel in the looks of this pair could not have a better frame if not the “Eternal City” – Rome.
A group of amazing friends was then the special frame for an extraordinarily enjoyable wedding.
How did you get into wedding photography?I was born in 1975, and as soon as I popped the first teeth I start to breathe photography in my family’s photo studio. I became a Professional Photographer specialized in Reportage at the High Institute of Photography in Rome.
How long have you been a wedding photographer?Since 1991
Can you share how you've made your wedding photography business a success? Any mistakes you made along the way?I think to be a successful photographer, you always have to move forward and improve. On the ground of my work there is experimentation and I'm looking for new ideas and motivations all the time.
What do you think a bride or groom should be looking for and not looking for in terms of wedding photography packages?n/a
How do you advertise yourself and what for you has really worked?Social networks and blog.
Why do you think people hire you?Because I always try to shoot emotional photos.
How many weddings do you average per year?From 50 to 60
Whose wedding would you love to shoot?A wedding of a tribal chief, of an African village.
If you were asked to shoot a destination wedding, where would you hope it would be?In Europe I would choose in Greece, while outside of Europe I'd like to shoot a wedding in India.
What equipment do you have for a typical wedding day?I use 2 reflex nikon d810 and 4 lenses: Nikon 20mm 2,8, Sigma 35mm 1.4 art, Sigma 50mm 1.4 art, nikon 85mm 1.4, and 2 flash sb910.
What is the most challenging thing about a wedding.
Do you have an approach to a wedding?My goal is to deliver the bride and the groom a unique reminder of their special day, in which they can find and remember their emotions and loved ones which they shared. The way i tell the wedding is absolutely reportage; a pure reportage of everything that happiness on the day your “YES”, without changing anything, without stealing time or distracting from the couple. My job is to be able to capture spontaneous moments so exciting and unique. Just so I can get some really unique images that will continue to tell a “Wedding Day” forever.
Who or what inspires you?I get inspiration from a lot of famous photographers and by great artists such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt.
Best & Worst marketing idea so far?It depends every time on the situation
If you weren't a photographer, what would you be?I've always liked to be an aircraft pilot.
Share your favourite image of the day and why?I chose this because I love the exciting moment as the mother helps the bride to wear the veil.
Do you have any goals for the future photography related or otherwise?Simply to do better in my work.
What do you think is key to being a successful wedding photographer?Be always humble, simple and always experiment.
Are there any other wedding photographers whose work inspires you, can be a well know photographer or somebody you've stumbled across?I have many good photographer friends and every one of them I always get inspiration from them.
Proudest moment so far. Photography related or otherwise?Every time I'm shooting a wedding.
