This moment happened while I was lining up to photograph the bride, the bridesmaids and the little flower girl. The little flower girl was the daughter of one of the bridesmaids (shown in the right of the photo) and wasn’t the happiest about being in the photo. So I find this photo really funny, as the reason why she’s crying is because of me, the photographer 🙂
It was only a split second moment between when she started to cry and when she turned her head into her mum to hide her face away, so the reaction to take the photo was quick.
I do really love the final shot, and even though I shot a few years ago now, it still has a place of pride in my portfolio. It’s a good reminder to me that quick reactions and being in the right place at the right time result in good photos.
I took this shot using a Nikon D800, 1/4000sec ISO1000 F2.5, Lens Nikon 85mm 1.8 and Spot metered with Aperture priority. It’s just a very simple black and white conversion which I think works perfectly.
