Tell us a little about yourself…
I was born in Caracas (Venezuela) where I studied photography, but it was in 2008 in Spain when I started my dream of opening a photography studio and began the way towards creative wedding photography.
How do you think or would like people to describe you?
A few years ago people described me as having a journalistic style with an artistic approach, but I think I have my own interpretation of photography. If you want to stand out in the world of photography you must have your own style.
The most important thing is that your photos will last over time and not go out of fashion.
Tell us a little bit about the wedding day…
A wedding day for a photographer is just as stressful as for anyone else. I normally work for 10/12 hours from preparation to the open bar. We want to be creative but we cannot afford to lose any important moments in the event, for that reason I always work with an assistant.
How did you get into wedding photography?
I started photographing children in a youthful style – easy, original, carefree. This, joined with our fashion experience resulted in our own style for weddings.
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
What do you think a bride or groom should be looking for and not looking for in terms of wedding photography packages?
They look for flexibility and we have to adapt to their preferences.
At first we had only album closed packages, now we offer packages without an album, half-day packages and we also make a customised quote based on their needs.
How do you advertise yourself and what for you has really worked?
What it really works is when you do a fantastic job and the couple and guests recommend you to other couple.
Why do you think people hire you?
I think couples hire us for our natural style but also as a wedding is an uncontrollable event that happens only once in a lifetime, it is important to trust your weddings image to experienced photographer. Such a photographer can provide valuable advice to the couple, and it’s not worth risking such an important day.
How many weddings do you average per year?
I take an average of 20 weddings per year.
Whose wedding would you love to shoot?
I love all kinds of wedding, the most important thing is that people are relaxed and everyone is enjoying their time. In Bodakids we have shot many kinds of weddings – Indian weddings, Russian weddings, Jewish weddings, big weddings, very small weddings, etc. All of them are unique for us.
If you were asked to shoot a destination wedding, where would you hope it would be?
I love travelling, and love shooting destination weddings. We are based in Malaga (Spain) although we have made destination wedding in many countries of Europe (UK, France, Swedden) and South America (Venezuela).
Every wedding destination it is very special for me and it helps me to grow as a photographer.
What equipment do you have for a typical wedding day?
From the beginning we have loved the quality of Nikon and every year we incorporate improvements in our equipment. I will bring cameras and lenses that lasts generations, guaranteeing the best performance in all conditions. So our equipment lets us to work without flash to capture images as they happened, trying not to interfere in the atmosphere of love in a wedding.
What is the most challenging thing about a wedding?
My challenge is improvement and to do better in my next wedding.
Do you have an approach to a wedding?
An artistic and creative approach.
Who or what inspires you?
